The LVS BES project ran from 2020-2025. During this period, Bureau ICE developed tests for English, Dutch as a Foreign Language and Papiamentu. Basic math tests, adapted to the Caribbean context, were also added in the final phase of the project. A project group consisting of various development teams ensured that everything was prepared, created and implemented. The project was supported by an Advisory Group with content experts from the islands. Additionally, an Administrative Consultation Group facilitated liaison with the BES school boards. Through this extensive focus on Caribbean context and local involvement, the tests are guaranteed to cater to the everyday reality of children on Bonaire, Sint-Eustatius and Saba.
